Alentejo village witnessed a presidential initiative
The village of Mértola was the last stop of Campaign 1 of the Route to Heritage promoted by the President of the Republic, and dedicated to Lower Alentejo.
President Cavaco Silva visited, in turn, a weaving workshop, the Basilica/Mosque and the Castle, and later on also visited the Islamic Museum and the Centre of Islamic Studies in that village.
