The President of the Republic addressed a message of congratulations to the President elect of the Republic of Paraguay, Horacio Cartes.
Following is the text of the message of congratulations sent by President Cavaco Silva:
“Mister President Elect,
On the occasion of Your Excellency’s election as President of the Republic of Paraguay, I want to address you, on behalf of the People of Portugal and in my own personal name, our warmest congratulations and wishes for the best of success in the performance of the exalted duties you have been called upon by the People of Paraguay.
I am certain that, during Your Excellency’s mandate, the excellent relations between Portugal and Paraguay will find new opportunities to be deepened and developed, whether bilaterally or within the framework of the Iberian American Community.
Reiterating my sincere congratulations, I beg you to accept, Mister President Elect, my best wishes for your personal well being and for the growing progress of the People of Paraguay.
