The President of the Republic addressed a message of congratulations to the re-elected President of Ecuador, Rafael Correa.
Following is the text of the congratulatory message from President Cavaco Silva:
"Mister President
On the occasion of Your Excellency’s re-election as President of the Republic of Ecuador, I wish to convey, on behalf of the People of Portugal and in my own name, our warmest congratulations and sincere wishes of success for a new term of office to which you have been re-elected.
I am also certain that, during Your Excellency’s second mandate, the relations of friendship and of co-operation that unite our two countries, particularly within the Ibero-american Community, will find new opportunities for development, to the mutual benefit of our two Peoples.
I take this opportunity to present Your Excellency with my sincere wishes for your personal happiness and of prosperity and progress of the People of Ecuador.
