President Cavaco Silva congratulated canoeists Fernando Pimenta and Emanuel Silva Olympic as vice champions of K2 1,000 metres

The President of the Republic sent a congratulatory message to canoeists Fernando Pimenta and Emanuel Silva who won a silver medal in the K2 1,000 metre event in the 2012 London Olympic Games.

Following is the text of the congratulatory message sent by President Cavaco Silva:

“I congratulate canoeists Fernando Pimenta and Emanuel Silva for having won a silver medal in the K2 1,000 metre event in the 2012 London Olympic Games.

As Olympic vice champions in this event, they have confirmed the high level of sportsmanship achieved and the excellent path they have been treading in this type of event, which has already resulted in several national and international awards in the latter years.

For the outstanding result now achieved, that honours and values national sports activities, my congratulations are owed to both athletes and to their technical support team, to all of whom I address my very best wishes.
