Ceremony in Galé Patio
As included in the commemorations of the National Day of Portugal, Camões and the Portuguese Communities, the President of the Republic attended, in Comércio Square, the raising of the National Standard on the Arch of Augusta Street, and took part in the Welcoming Session of Lisbon City Council, held in Galé Patio.
During the ceremony and after an allocution by the Mayor, Dr. António Costa, President Cavaco Silva delivered a speech.
At the end, the President opened the exhibition “Fado and the Cinema” and, later, went to City Hall, in Município Square, where he unveiled a plaque allusive to the occasion and signed the visitor’s Book of Honour of the City Council.
