The President of the Republic sent a message of congratulations to judoist Telma Monteiro who won the title of European judo champion in the -57 Kg category, in the European championships being held in Russia.
Following is the text of the message of congratulations from President Aníbal Cavaco Silva:
“Upon winning the title of European Judo Champion, in the -57 Kg category, by the fourth time in her career, I congratulate Telma Monteiro for the brilliant result reached in the European Championships, currently being held in Chelyabinsk, Russia, thus honouring national sports.
I want to congratulate you for the high level in sports once again demonstrated and for the extraordinary drive that has marked your path as an athlete, confirmed by the previously achieved titles.
Such results contribute for adding value to Portuguese Sports and are a great stimulus for young Portuguese sportsmen.
