Meeting in Helsinki
The President of the Republic introduced the theme of the third plenary session of the Informal Meeting of the Heads of State of the so called Arraiolos Group, held in Helsinki, where the situation in Northern Africa and the Middle East was discussed, within the related context of “Europe’s Southern Neighbourhood”.
At the end of this last meting of the group, the eight Presidents held a collective press conference, which was attended by representatives of the international media.
Later, the Heads of State of Germany, Austria, Slovenia, Finland, Hungary, Italy, Latvia and Portugal, boarded an ice breaker for an on board luncheon on the frozen waters of the Gulf of Helsinki.
