The President of the Republic held separate meetings, today, with the Chairmen of the Boards of Banco Santander Totta, Banif, Montepio Geral and of Caixa Central de Crédito Agrícola Mútuo, concerning the situation of the Portuguese banking system and the provision of credit to the economy, thus complementing the meetings held on Tuesday, 1 February, with the officers responsible for Caixa Geral de Depósitos, Banco Espírito Santo, Banco Português de Investimento and Banco Comercial Português.
