The President of the Republic sent a message of condolences to President Bouteflika of Algeria

Following the murderous attempts occurred yesterday in Algiers, the President of the Republic sent a message of condolences to the Algerian President, Abdelaziz Bouteflika.

The text of the President’s message was as follows:

Mr. President,

I was deeply disconsolate when made aware of the tragic and cowardly attempts perpetrated yesterday in the Algerian capital.

In this moment of pain and sadness, I would request that Your Excellency accept, on behalf of the people of Portugal and in my own name, our deepest condolences and heartfelt sympathy.
