President Cavaco Silva congratulated Álvaro Siza Vieira for having been awarded the 2010 Luso-Spanish Prize for Art and Culture

The President of the Republic addressed a message of congratulations to architect Álvaro Siza Vieira, who was awarded the 2010 Luso-Spanish Prize for Art and Culture.

Following is the text of the message addressed by President Aníbal Cavaco Silva:

"I was very pleased to be told that you had been awarded the 2010 Luso-Spanish Prize for Art and Culture.

In my personal name and on behalf of all the Portuguese, I thus wish to congratulate you for this further international distinction, which highlights your role in the strengthening of the cultural relations between Portugal and Spain, a country that so greatly admires your work.

Once more, my best congratulations.
