Solemn Changing of the Guard
The celebrations of the centenary of the establishing of the Republic and the programme of commemorating activities led to the Palace of Belém, again open to the public on 5 October, more than 20,000 people.
With the numerous events carried out since 1 October, the total number of visits to the Palace on the days it was open added to almost 50,000.
Visits to the Palace, its gardens and the temporary exhibition on view in the Museum of the Presidency and in two galleries, the Solemn Changing of the Guard and the concerts of the Sons do Tejo and Anaquim Groups and that of the songstress Mariza, took place day after day.
