The President of the Republic addressed a message of condolences to the family of Rear Admiral Almeida e Costa.
Following is the text of the President’s Message:
"Rear Admiral Vasco de Almeida e Costa served the Country as a Distinguished Officer of the Armed Forces, and also rendered relevant services to the Portuguese Democracy in the performance of high duties of State, such as Interim Prime Minister, Minister for Internal Affairs and as Governor of Macau.
Upon being advised of the passing away of Rear Admiral Almeida e Costa, I wish to convey to the mourning Family, on behalf of Portugal and in my own personal name, our heartfelt condolences.
Aníbal Cavaco Silva"
