Presidents Cavaco Silva and Eduardo dos Santos met at the beginning of the State Visit

The President of the Republic and his Angolan counterpart José Eduardo dos Santos held a private meeting, in Luanda, at the beginning of a State Visit which will include the Provinces of Huíla and Benguela.

After the meeting between the two Heads of State, a further enlarged meeting was held which included the deputations from both countries, at the end of which Presidents Aníbal Cavaco Silva and José Eduardo dos Santos announced to the press the decisions they had taken.

Prior to the meeting in the Presidential Palace in Luanda, President Aníbal Cavaco Silva paid a tribute to the first Angolan Head of State, Agostinho Neto, laying a wreath of flowers on the monument erected to his memory in one of the capital’s squares.
