Closing session in Queluz

President closed in Queluz the 4th Campaign of the Route to the Innovatory Local Communities

Five individualities who distinguished themselves whilst innovators, throughout their lives and in the exercise of their activities, were decorated by the President of the Republic in the Palace of Queluz, where the 4th Campaign of the Route to the Innovatory Local Communities, carries out in the West Lisbon Metropolitan Area, was concluded.

The award ceremony was held during a closing session where tribute was paid to the decorated individualities, with the presence of representatives of the communities of the counties where the Route took place and during which President Aníbal Cavaco Silva delivered a speech.

The following individualities were decorated on this occasion (in brackets the orders and degrees of the awarded insignia): the former Mayor of Oeiras Dr. Carlos Alberto Andrade Neves (Commander of the Order of Prince Henry the Navigator); the former member of Parliament and former member of the Government Dr. José Luís Vieira de Castro (Commander of the Order of Prince Henry the Navigator); the person responsible for the restoration of the organs of the Mafra Basilica, Dinarte Machado (Commander of the Order of Merit); the vicar of Oeiras for more than 40 years, Father Fernando da Silva Martins (Commander of the Order of Merit) and the General Manager of Würth Portugal, Dr. Nuno Altino Fernandes Dias (Commander of the Order of Merit).
