On the occasion of the World Theatre Day, the President of the Republic has decided to decorate several individualities linked to dramatic art, during a ceremony which will be held in the Coach Museum, in Lisbon, next Friday 26 March.
The ceremony will be followed by the exhibition of a theatrical play.
Following are the individualities to be decorated by President Aníbal Cavaco Silva, and the degrees of the honours which will be awarded:
- Actor Ruy de Carvalho – Grand Officer of the Order of Sant’Iago da Espada
- Actor António Feio – Commander of the Order of Prince Henry the Navigator
- Actress Beatriz Batarda - Commander of the Order of Prince Henry the Navigator
- Director Joaquim Benite - Commander of the Order of Prince Henry the Navigator
- Actress Manuela Maria - Commander of the Order of Prince Henry the Navigator
- Mrs. Maria Custódia Gião – Officer of the Order of Merit
- Seiva Trupe Theatre Company – Honorary Member of the Order of Merit.
