The President of the Republic decorated with the Grand Cross of the Order of Christ, the former Attorney General, Councillor José Souto de Moura, and the former Chief of the Armed Forces General Staff, Admiral José Manuel Garcia Mendes Cabeçadas, the former Chief of the Air Force General Staff, General Manuel José Taveira Martins, and the former Chief of the Naval General Staff, Admiral Francisco António Torres Vidal de Abreu.
