On the occasion of the 1st Campaign of the Route to the Local Innovatory Communities, the President of the Republic will decorate, in recognition of their merit, several personalities and institutions who distinguished themselves throughout their lives and in the exercise of their activities.
The decoration ceremony will be held during the Closure of the 1st Campaign of the Route, carried out in the area between the Douro and Vouga Rivers, simultaneously with the Recognition Ceremony of the Merit of the decorated personalities.
Following are the personalities and institutions to be decorated and the degrees of the orders to be awarded by the President of the Republic:
- Dr. José Girão Pereira – Grand-Officer of the Order of Merit
- Sister Conceição Laranjeiro – Commander of the Order of Public Education
- Espinho Music Academy – Honorary Member of the Order of Public Education
- APCOR – Portuguese Cork Association – Honorary Member of the Order of Agricultural, Commercial and Industrial Merit – Class of Industrial Merit
- APICCAPS – Association of Portuguese Manufacturers of Shoes, Components, Leather Goods and Substitutes – Honorary Member of the Order of Agricultural, Commercial and Industrial Merit – Class of Industrial Merit
The Closing and Recognition of Merit Ceremony will commence at 19.00 hours of Saturday, 21 November, at the WR Hotel, in São João da Madeira, where the President of the Republic will deliver a speech.
