The President of the Republic addressed a message to His Majesty the King of Saudi Arabia and Guardian of the Two Sacred Mosques, Abdullah Bin Abdel Aziz Al Saud, on the occasion of the National Day of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Following is the text of the message:

"Majesty,

On the occasion of the celebrations of the National Day of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, I have the honour to address you, on behalf of the People of Portugal and in my own personal name, our congratulations and sincere wishes for Your Majesty’s personal well being, as well as for the progress and prosperity of the People of Saudi Arabia.

I wish, on this occasion, to reiterate to Your Majesty my continued endeavour in the strengthening of the bonds of friendship between Portugal and Saudi Arabia, in order that we can take full advantage of the many opportunities of cooperation which we are offered in many areas.

Renewing my congratulations, I beg you to accept, Majesty, the protests of my highest regards.

Aníbal Cavaco Silva"
