The President of the Republic and Mrs. Cavaco Silva will carry out an Official Visit to Austria at the invitation of President Heinz Fischer, from 23 to 26 July instant, which will include the cities of Vienna and Salzburg.
On arrival in Vienna, the President of the Republic and Mrs. Cavaco Silva will hold a meeting with members of the community of Austrian citizens who were taken in by Portuguese families after the Second World War.
The programme of the Official Visit includes meetings with the President of the Republic of Austria, with Chancellor Werner Faymann and other eminent Austrian authorities. In Salzburg, President and Mrs. Fischer will host a banquet in honour of President and Mrs. Cavaco Silva.
The President of the Republic and Mrs. Cavaco Silva will be the guests of honour of the Austrian President and Mrs. Heinz Fischer at the Salzburg Festival, which will open officially on 25 July.
