Visit to Gouveia
After having been welcomed by a Guard of Honour of Voluntary Fire fighters in a ceremony which took place on the frontage of the Gouveia Council Building, the President of the Republic took a short walk to the Museum of Automobile Miniatures which he then officially opened.
Later, in the Abel Manta Museum, he awarded the Abel Manta Prize for Painting, following which he the D. Laura dos Santos Foundation, where he was shown the Temporary Admittance Centre for abandoned children and the Community for the Insertion of teenage mothers and their offspring.
