Praça do Império
At the start of his Official Visit to Portugal, the President of the Republic welcomed the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, in Praça do Império – Jerónimos Monastery, where a Military Ceremony was held which included the playing of the Russian and Portuguese National Anthems, a 21 gun salute, and the review and march past of the Guard of Honour.
After the Military Ceremony, President Vladimir Putin was accompanied to the Chapel of the Jerónimos Monastery where he deposed a wreath on the tomb of Luís Vaz de Camões.
