President of the Republic sent condolences to his Brazilian counterpart Dilma Roussef over the victims of a fire in a discotheque

The President of the Republic addressed a message of condolences to his Brazilian counterpart Dilma Roussef concerning the victims of a fire occurred in a discotheque in Rio Grande do Sul.

Following is the text of the message sent by President Cavaco Silva:

“Madam President,

It was with great dismay that I received the news of the tragic consequences of a fire which devastated a club in the city of Santa Maria, in Rio Grande do Sul.

In this moment of grief, I wish to convey to Your Excellency, to the families of the victims families and to the People of Brazil, on behalf of the People of Portugal and in my own personal name, our deepest sympathy and heartfelt solidarity.

Aníbal Cavaco Silva”
