The President of the Republic addressed a message of condolences to the Family of Architect Manuel Taínha
Following is the text of the message of condolences sent by President Cavaco Silva;
“Upon being advised of the passing away of Architect Manuel Taínha I want to emphasize the relevance that his work for Architecture in Portugal has meant in the last fifty years.
Working with Masters of generations that preceded him, he was able throughout his life to construe work that led him to earn enormous prestige in his time. Distinguished with the Valmor Prize in 1991 with the Project for the Faculty of Psychology of the City of Lisbon University, he left his signature in many other foremost buildings.
Admired for his human qualities he was also considered a Master by all those who were able, along his long career, to benefit from his knowledge and experience.
To the bereaved Family I address my heartfelt condolences.
Aníbal Cavaco Silva
