President congratulated cyclist Rui Costa who won the Tour of Switzerland

The President of the Republic addressed a message of congratulations to cyclist Rui Costa who was awarded winner of the 76th edition of the Tour of Switzerland.

Following is the text of the message sent by President Cavaco Silva:

“Upon winning the 76th edition of the Tour of Switzerland, athlete Rui Costa is the first Portuguese to be qualified at the top of a World Tour category competition, thus honouring national Sports.

I congratulate him due to his outstanding sportsmanship and enhance that the result achieved contributes towards the valuation of Sports in Portugal and encourages young Portuguese sports enthusiasts, confirming that Portugal has the potential to exploit other sports, thus becoming a country of excellence in such activities.
