It was with deep concern that I learnt of the great number of victims and large material losses caused by the strong earthquake that struck the region of Christchurch, in New Zealand.
In this difficult moment, I wish to transmit to Your Excellency and to the people of New Zealand, particularly to the victims’ families, on behalf of the people of Portugal and in my own personal name, our feelings of deepest regret, as well as the expression of our heartfelt sympathy.
