On the occasion of Your Excellency’s re-election as President of the Republic of Senegal, I wish to address you, Mr. President, on behalf of the People of Portugal and in my own name, my heartiest congratulations and best wishes in the pursuance of the important duties that you have once again been called upon to accomplish.
Your Excellency’s election is the result of a widely voted democratic electoral procedure, demonstrating the attachment of the Senegalese People to the fundamental values of Democracy and of the Rule of Law, which, I am certain, will continue to guide them in the future.
I am assured that, during Your Excellency’s mandate, the historical links and excellent relations which we enjoy at the present time will open up new opportunities to be developed and straightened.
With renewed congratulations, I request that Your Excellency, Mr. President, accepts my very best wishes for your personal health and for the increased prosperity of the People of Senegal.
