President Cavaco Silva congratulated Naide Gomes for the gold medal received in the European Athletics Track Competitions
The President of the Republic sent a congratulatory message to athlete Naide Gomes, who received a gold medal for long jump in the European Athletics Track Competitions.

The text of the message from President Aníbal Cavaco Silva was:

"Upon receiving the news of the extraordinary accomplishment that was the conquest of the Gold Medal in the long jump in the European Athletics Track Competitions, in addition to all the remaining national and international records you have achieved, I wish to congratulate you for this further notable classification, along with the remaining sports successes in the various competitions in which you have taken part.

You dedication and perseverance to athletics has once again been rewarded, contributing to Portugal’s position as country of great athletes.

Please accept my congratulations and sincere wishes for your personal happiness and successful sports achievements.
