The President of the Republic addressed a congratulatory message to the President of the Republic of Croatia, Ivo Josipovic, on his election to office.
Following is the text of the congratulatory message of President Aníbal Cavaco Silva:
"On the occasion of the expressive election of Your Excellency as President of the Republic of Croatia, I wish to address you, on behalf of the People of Portugal and in my own personal name, our warmest congratulations and best wishes for success in the performance of your high office.
I am certain that, during Your Excellency’s mandate, we will find new opportunities to strengthen the relations of friendship and cooperation enjoyed by our two countries for the benefit of our peoples.
I beg you to accept, Mister President elect, my sincere wishes or Your Excellency’s personal well being and for the prosperity and progress of the friendly people of Croatia.
