President Cavaco Silva sent condolences to the family of the poet Fiama Hasse Pais Brandão
The President of the Portugal on being informed of the death of Fiama Hasse Pais Brandão addressed a message of condolences to her family. The message says:

"On being informed of the death of Fiama Hasse Pais Brandão I present my heartfelt condolences to her family.

Fiama Hasse Pais Brandão was one of the most representative names of Portuguese poetry in the second half of the 20th century. Her personality and deep sensibility and the work she leaves enrich our literary heritage and pay tribute to the vitality of our culture.

On behalf of the Portuguese and in my own personal name I would like at this time of mourning to show my admiration for and pay tribute to the great writer, Fiama Hasse Pais Brandão.
