President of the Republic addressed message to President Malam Bacai Sanhá of Guinea Bissau, on the occasion of their National Day

The President of the Republic addressed a message to the President of the Republic of Guinea Bissau, Malam Bacai Sanhá, on the occasion of the country’s National Day.

Following is the text of the message:

"Mister President,

On the occasion of the celebrations of the National Day of the Republic of Guinea Bissau, I am particularly pleased to address Your Excellency, on behalf of the People of Portugal and in my own personal name, our most sincere congratulations, as well as best wishes for the progress and prosperity of our friends the People of Guinea Bissau.

On this occasion I wish to reiterate to Your Excellency my personal endeavour in the strengthening of the deep bonds of friendship and cooperation which link Portugal and Guinea Bissau, as well as Portugal’s continued support for all efforts which aim towards the consolidation of peace, stability, democracy and economic and social development in Guinea Bissau.

In this so special moment for all Guineans and for all the friends of Guinea Bissau, I beg Your Excellency to accept my highest regard and personal esteem.
