Message of condolences addressed by the President of the Republic to His Majesty the King of Spain, on the occasion of the tragic accident occurred in Madrid Airport

Upon being advised of the tragic accident occurred in Madrid Airport, the President of the Republic addressed His Majesty the King of Spain a message of condolences.

Following is the text of the message:

"Majesty

I was deeply shocked when being told of the tragic accident occurred with a passenger aircraft when taking off from Madrid Airport, which caused such a large number of victims.

In this moment of immense pain, I wish to express to Your Majesty, on behalf of the People of Portugal and in my own personal name, our profound regret, and equally request that you should deign to address our condolences and the expression of our deepest feelings to the families in mourning.
