During his visit to the United States, the President of the Republic met, in Washington, the Nobel Prize Winner in Medicine, of Portuguese lineage, Craig C. Mello.
Meeting with a Portuguese policeman in Newark
The President of the Republic began, in Newark, a visit to the United States, which includes the opening of an exhibition concerning Portugal, the discoveries and the convergence of diverse cultures, and will contact some of the Portuguese Communities in the North American Eastern Seaboard.

The President in an interactive experiment
The President of the Republic took part in an on-line interactivity experiment, from Belém Palace, with Fernando Santos, a blind person, that tested throughout 10 days, in an apartment in a central Lisbon hotel, the degree of inclusiveness information for people with special needs, within the programme of the Integra 21 project.
