Speech in Estoril
The President of the Republic attended, in Estoril, at the Closing Ceremony of the 3rd COTEC SME Network Innovation Encounter, where he awarded the 2009 Prize to company WeDo and later delivered a speech.

Exhibition in the Palace galleries
The President of the Republic opened, in the galleries of the Palace of Belém, an exhibition of Christmas related Illuminated Manuscripts and Sacred Art paintings and sculpture.
Christmas Tree on show in the Hall of Fountains
The President of the Republic and Mrs. Cavaco Silva opened the Palace of Belém Christmas Tree in the presence of representatives from the firemen of the whole country and their families, in a tribute to their work on behalf of all the community.
Following the Government’s proposal, the President of the Republic extended, as from 5 December 2009, the period of office of the Chief of the Armed Forces General Staff, General Luís Vasco Valença Pinto.
The official Visit to Portugal of the President of the Republic of Guinea-Bissau, planned for 4 and 5 December, has been postponed, at the request of the Guinean authorities, due to reasons of health of President Malam Bacai Sanhá.
Audience granted to new Ambassador
The President of the Republic received, in audience, Ambassador Rui Tereno, Who recently presented letters credential as Portugal’s diplomatic representative in Dakar.

Toast in Queluz
The President of the Republic hosted in the Palace of Queluz, a banquet in honour of his Chilean counterpart, Mrs. Michelle Bachelet, who is undertaking a State Visit to Portugal.
