Voting at the Bartolomeu de Gusmão School
The President of the Republic exercised his voting rights at the Presidential Elections, casting his vote in Bartolomeu de Gusmão School, in Lisbon.
The President of the Republic decided, in the terms of article No. 136 of the Constitution, not to enact Parliamentary Decree No. 68/XI that creates the procedure for change of sex and of name in the civil registry and alters, for the seventeenth time, the Code of Civil Registration, and has today returned that bill to Parliament.

Excellency,
Having received, to be enacted as law, Parliamentary Decree No. 68/XI, which creates the procedure for change of sex and of forename in the civil registry and alters the Code of Civil Registration for the seventeenth time, I have decided, in the terms of article No. 136 of the Constitution, not to enact this bill, based upon the following premises:
Oak tree planted next to Marialva castle
The President of the Republic adhered to the reforestation campaign launched by the Guarda Civil Government, planting an oak tree next to the walls of the castle of the historic village of Marialva, in the county of Mêda.
President addresses the Portuguese on the first day of the New Year
The President of the Republic addressed a New Year message to the Portuguese.
Decoration ceremony
The President of the Republic decorated the journalist, newscaster, presenter and actor Artur Agostinho with the insignia of Commander of the Military Order of Sant’Iago da Espada.
