Toast between Presidents
On the occasion of the Official Visit to Portugal of the President of the German Federal Republic, Christian Wulff, the President of the Republic and Mrs. Cavaco Silva hosted a banquet in Ajuda National Palace, in honour of the German President and his Wife, Mrs. BettinaWulff, at the beginning of which President Aníbal Cavaco Silva and his counterpart delivered speeches.
Christian Wulff received in Belém
The President of the Republic received, in the Palace of Belém, the President of the German Federal Republic, Christian Wulff, during the Official Visit that he is carrying out to Portugal, both holding an enlarged meeting that included the deputations of both countries.
The President of the Republic returned to the Government, without enacting it, the bill on drug prescriptions that establishes the mandatory indication of the drug’s generic name and, equally, the mandatory electronic issue of drug prescriptions.

Empowerment of General Luís Araújo
The President of the Republic empowered the Chief of the Armed Forces General Staff., General Luís Evangelista Esteves Araújo, and addressed a speech on the occasion.
Officers of PCBRE received in Belém
The President of the Republic met on Thursday, 3 February and today, in separate audiences, with the Confederation of Portuguese Industry, with the Portuguese Confederation of Trade and Services, with the Confederation of Portuguese Farmers, with the Portuguese Confederation of Building and Real Estate and with the Portuguese Confederation of Tourism, in order to hear their opinions on the competitiveness of the Portuguese economy.

The President of the Republic receives, in audience, the Officers of the Portuguese Tourism Confederation (CTP).
The President of the Republic received, in audience, the Officers of the Portuguese Confederation of Building and Real Estate (CPCI).
Audience granted to General Luís Araújo
The President of the Republic received, in audience, the Chief of the Air Force General Staff, General Luís Araújo, who ceases his duties to be empowered as the Chief of the Armed Forces General Staff.
Audience in Belém
The President of the Republic received, in audience, the officers of the Confederation of Portuguese Industry (CIP).
The President of the Republic received today, in separate audiences, deputations from the General Confederation of Portuguese Workers (CGTP-IN) and of the General Workers’ Union (UGT), in order to hear their views over employment policies.
