The President of the Republic received, in audience, the officers responsible for the association “Learning to Achieve” and the two teams of young students who represented Portugal in the Zurich Entrepreneurial Fair and in the Junior Achievement Europe 2012 international competition, held in Bucharest.

The President of the Republic presided at the closing session of the “Expresso 40 Years Grand Conference”, the topic for which was “Portugal in the World”, which was held in Belém Cultural Centre, having then delivered a speech.

The President of the Republic received, in the Palace of Belém. the Choral Group from the “Torres Novas Rehabilitation and Integration Centre”, the Vizela Philharmonic Society and the Group “Force of Tradition” from Paderne, Albufeira, who performed the traditional “Janeiras” (carols) of the season.

The President of the Republic received, in audience, Ambassador Jaime Leitão, to present him with his letters credential as Portugal’s diplomatic representative in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
The President of the Republic today asked the Constitutional Court to check on the constitutionality of the following measures in the State’s Budget Law for 2013:
- Article 29 - suspension of the payment of the holiday subsidy or equivalent;
- Article 77 - suspension of the payment of the holiday subsidy or equivalent of pensioners;
- Article 78 - additional solidarity contribution.”
