Decoration of Solidarity Institutions
The President of the Republic decorated several Private Social Solidarity Institutions which have become distinguished in their fight against social exclusion.
The grade of Honorary Member of Order of Freedom was awarded to the Life and Peace Community, and the grade of Honorary Member of the Order of Merit was awarded to the Cais Association, to the Portuguese Association of Handicapped Persons, to Casa dos Rapazes (House of Young Men), to the Portuguese Anti- Aids League and to the Maria Assistance Services Organization (SAOM).
