Commando Regiment
The President of the Republic decorated the Infantry Commando Colonel Raul Miguel Socorro Folques with the grade of Officer, with Palm, of the Torre e Espada Military Order, of Value, Loyalty and Merit.
The decoration ceremony was held in the Commando Regiment, in Carregueira, on which parade ground stood companies of the Military College, of the Military Academy and of the Commandos, watched by civilians and military personnel who had been decorated with the Torre e Espada Military Order, of Value, Loyalty and Merit.
The Minister of National Defence, the Mayor of Sintra, the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces and the Chiefs of Staff of the Army, Navy and Air Force, as well as other highly placed civilian and military officials were also present at the ceremony.
Before the award of the insignia President Cavaco Silva delivered an address.
