The President of the Republic will head the National Delegation to the 70th General Meeting of the United Nations, which will take place in New York, from 28 to 30 September instant.
President Cavaco Silva will address the plenary General Meeting at the end of the morning of 28 September, the first day of the meeting. During his stay in New York the Head of State will hold contacts with the Secretary General of the United Nations, Ban Ki Moon, as well as with his counterparts from several countries.
Within the programme of this journey, the President of the Republic will also meet the Portuguese Community of the East Coast of the United States, at an event which will be held in Newark, New Jersey.
The President of the Republic will be accompanied by the Minister of State and Foreign Affairs.
