Walking through the historical centre
The President of the Republic visited the County of Penedono, starting with the recently set up Vale do Torto Olive Oil Producers Cooperative Society, viewing the product reception areas and the production and storage of olive oil.
After this, President Cavaco Silva visited Monte Estate, a recent unit for the organic raising of the “bísaro” strain of pigs, going through the several operational areas.
Later the President viewed the village Castle, where he watched a presentation in the county council’s Interactive Establishment showing the diversity of the local and regional tourist and cultural offer.
Lastly, in the County Hall, a commemorative session of the visit was held, during which the President delivered an address.
