President of the Republic decorates Social Solidarity individuals and institutions

The President of the Republic will denote tomorrow, 29 April, the European Day of Solidarity and Cooperation between Generations, with a ceremony during which he will distinguish a number of individualities and institutions whose work on behalf of the most fragile members of our society has been fundamental for our country’s social cohesion.

The following individualities will be decorated with different grades of the Order of Merit:

Grand Officer

  • Father Lino da Silva Maia

Comendador

  • Alfredo Castanheira Pinto
  • António José Martins Lopes
  • Luís Villas Boas
  • Manuel José Cardoso Martins

Officer

  • Albino Martins
  • Cláudia Martins

The following Institutions will also be decorated as Honorary Members of the Order of Merit::

  • Braga Child Care Association
  • Vila Franca de Xira Child Care Popular Association
  • Lucinda Anino dos Santos Social Aid Centre
  • Flourinhas (Flowers) do Vouga
  • Good Will Homes
    Diocesan Centre for Social Promotion
  • The decoration ceremony will be held in the Palace of Belém, at 11:30 hourss,
