The Museum of the Presidency of the Republic completes ten years of activity and, within the scope of the celebration of the anniversary of establishing the Republic, reopens on 5 October instant, after the refurbishment of its exhibiting model.
With various free entry initiatives on that day, namely musical performances, the Museum presents renewed exhibiting centres, maintaining its course of the History of the Portuguese Republic, through which the visitor becomes acquainted with the national symbols, with the biography and the presidential powers throughout the ages, the State visits and gifts and honorific orders.
The Picture Gallery will have a novel presentation which, in addition to allowing a better view of the official pictures of the several Presidents, will have available multimedia spots with detailed information on each President.
Equally refurbished was the audio-visual content of the Museum, enabling the strengthening of themes contiguous to the presidential institution, such as the Palace of Belém, the First Ladies and the Cascais Citadel Palace.
The Museum shop was reorganized in order to welcome groups and the circulation of handicapped persons.
Initiatives carried out since 2004 have been summarized in the book “Museum of the Presidency of the Republic from 2004 to 2014”, which will be available in the Museum shop.
