Award ceremony
The President of the Republic held a social meeting, in Macau, with the Portuguese Communities residing in the Special Administrative Regions of Macau and Hong Kong, during which he addressed a speech.
On the occasion, President Cavaco Silva decorated six Macau individualities with the grade of Commander of the Order of Merit – the Portuguese Honorary Consul in Macau, Ambrose So Shu Fai, the President of the Cultural Institute, Guilherme Ung Vai Meng, the Member of the Legislative Assembly José Maria Pereira Coutinho, the former member of the Legislative Assembly and President of the Macau Retired Persons and Pensioner’s Association, Jorge Manuel Capela Gonçalves Fão, the Attorney and President of the House of Portugal, Maria Amélia da Conceição António Saldanha, and the Attorney and Judge Rui José da Cunha.
Later, in the “Theatre” of Macau Tower, a concert by Katia Guerreiro was performed for the Communities.
