Contact with innovatory projects
Included in his initiative “Youth and the Future of the Economy”, the President of the Republic attended, in Porto, a campaign dedicated to Social Entrepreneurialism and Economic Development, in which many young countrywide social entrepreneurs took part.
The campaign’s programme began in the Porto CAIS Centre, where the CAIS recycling programme was presented; President Cavaco Silva then visited the Social Spin, an incubating centre of social entrepreneurialism projects, installed in the Aspreia Campus of Porto Catholic University.
Later, in the SAOM (Maria Social Services Organizations), the President of the Republic held a meeting with young social entrepreneurs, where the topic of the campaign was subject to debate.
This was followed by luncheon, prepared by SAOM workers, during which some of the participants made reference to their ongoing projects in several fields of activity.
