The President of the Republic has decided to appoint Vice Admiral Luis Manuel Fourneaux Macieira Fragoso as Chief of Naval General Staff.
In the terms of item p) of article no. 133 of the Constitution, the Government proposed the appointment of Vice Admiral Luis Manuel Fourneaux Macieira Fragoso as Chief of Naval General Staff, replacing Admiral José Carlos Torrado Saldanha Lopes.
After hearing the view of the Chief of the Armed Forces General Staff, and having received today Vice Admiral Luis Manuel Fourneaux Macieira Fragoso, the President of the Republic will appoint the new Chief of Naval General Staff, whom he will empower next Monday, 9 December, at 15:30 hours, in a ceremony to be held in the Palace of Belém.
