XXIII Iberian American Summit
The President of the Republic attended, in Panama City, the inaugural ceremonies of the XXIII Iberian American Summit.
The Heads of State and of Government of the Iberian American Community, meeting in the Figali Conference Centre, watched a cultural presentation, and later heard the speeches delivered by the President of Panama, Ricardo Martinelli, of the President of the Spanish Government, Mariano Rajoy, and of the Iberian American Secretary General, Enrique Iglesias.
Prior to this, the Heads of State and of Government had taken part in the inaugural act of the building housing the headquarters of the Latin American Parliament (Parlatino).
In the evening, the leaders present at the Summit visited the Museum of Biodiversity, which will soon become open to the public, where the Panamanian President hosted a dinner in the honour of the Heads of State and of Government and their consorts.
