Decoration award ceremony in Washington

The President decorated, in Washington, the principal organizers of the “Encompassing the Globe” Exhibition

The President of the Republic decorated with the rank of Grand Officer of the Order of Infante D. Henrique (Prince Henry the Navigator), Julian Raby and Prof. Jay Levenson, the two principal organizers of the exhibition “Encompassing the Globe: Portugal and the World in the 16th and 17th centuries”, on show in the Freer Gallery of Art / Arthur M. Sackler Gallery, in Washington. 

After the decoration award ceremony, which was held in the Residency of the Portuguese Embassy in Washington, the President and Mrs. Cavaco Silva hosted a lunch in honour of a number of Portuguese and North American personalities.
