ROV Luso presentation
The President of the Republic accompanied, on board the oceanographic ship “Gago Coutinho”, the work of some of the scientific missions that are carrying out their activities in the “Selvagem” Islands.
The officers responsible for the several missions presented the works relating to the Enlargement of the Portuguese Continental Platform, to the National Sea Strategy, to the M@rbis System and to the ROV Luso remote control submarine vehicle.
On board the oceanographic vessel, President Cavaco Silva attended the rising and lowering exercises of ROV Luso on the offshore seas of the Greater “Selvagem” Island, as well as, through the projection of video images, the research work carried out by the vehicle on the sea floor.
