Visit to the Melgaço Cinema Museum
The President of the Republic travelled to the County of Melgaço, where he visited the Peso Thermal Park attending a brief explanation on the quality of the thermal waters, after which he viewed the new facilities of the Thermal Baths.
In the town centre, President Cavaco Silva visited the Melgaço Cinema Museum, set up under the initiative of Frenchman Jean Loup Passek.
Later, the President officially opened the new facilities of the higher Scholl of Sports and Leisure, comprised within the Viana do Castelo Polytechnic Institute, where he delivered a speech.
At the end of the visit, President Cavaco Silva met with the Presidents of all the Country’s Polytechnic Institutes who were holding a conference in Melgaço on the occasion.
