Enthroning of Pope Francis
The President of the Republic attended, in Vatican City, the celebratory ceremonies of the beginning of the Pontificate of Pope Francis.
After the Mass he celebrated in St. Peter’s Square, the Pope greeted the attending Heads of State inside the Basilica.
The Portuguese Head of State and Mrs. Cavaco Silva conversed with Pope Francis, and President Cavaco Silva took the opportunity to invite the Head of the Catholic Church to visit Portugal.
